The Board of PIR International are delighted to welcome Peter Keen to our Advisory Committee.
An experienced public and private company Non-Executive Director, Peter has sat on over 30 boards during his career. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Endomagnetics Ltd, a company improving cancer surgery outcomes; and the medical charity LifeArc which has assets significantly in excess of £1bn following the monetisation of the leading cancer drug Keytruda. Recent Directorships include SpringWorks Therapeutics Inc, a rare disease company that successfully listed on NASDAQ in September 2019, the Biotechnology Growth Trust plc, a £400m investment trust investing in global biotechnology; and Abcam plc, the leading supplier of protein research tools where he was the Senior Independent Director.
Sally Hope, Managing Partner at PIR International commented ‘Peter has been an informal sounding board over the years; and we are delighted he has chosen to join our Advisory Committee. You can always rely on Peter to pragmatically challenge and get to the nub of an issue; using his extensive market knowledge and experience to identify the options and think outside the box. Peter’s extensive understanding of investment processes and building teams for early and later stage companies, and experience of IPOs and M&A deals, will be invaluable for PIR.’
Maureen Coleman, Chair of PIR International added ‘Peter’s experience of working with highly respected global life science search companies, over many years, provides a unique insight to PIR’s strategy. Market differentiation and adding value have always been important to PIR and enabled us to punch above our weight. As the Board reflects on this further, over the coming months, his input will be instrumental.’
Peter Keen commented ‘Whilst successive Governments have heralded the significant contribution played by the life science industry and academic research community, the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted its importance to the general public and investors alike. Getting the right talent in the right place at the right time is critical, and PIR are developing a reputation as one of the up and coming firms at doing just that. I am delighted to be joining the Advisory Board at what is a both a challenging and exciting time.’
